Baptism is it required?

Acts 2:37-39 37
¶ Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

Do you teach men/women to do this? Do you do this yourself?
Why not? Isn't it what the Bible teaches a man to do - when they are converted and desire to become followers of Jesus Christ?

This is what is taught in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Repent every one of you - (reader)
Be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ - (reader)
Receive the gift of the Holy Ghost - (reader)

And thus come unto him - accept him as your savior do as the Bible says, and what we teach.
D&C 76:51-53
51 They are they who received the testimony of Jesus, and believed on his name and were baptized after the manner of his burial, being buried in the water in his name, and this according to the commandment which he has given—
52 That by keeping the commandments they might be washedand cleansed from all their sins, and receive the Holy Spirit by the laying on of the hands of him who is ordained and sealed unto this power;
53 And who overcome by faith, and are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, which the Father sheds forth upon all those who are just and true.

The Bible is very clear that these are things that one should do... Thus the real question isn't whether one should do these things... but rather what the appropriate way to do them should be. Lest we decide the Bible doesn't actually teach us what we should do.

We shouldn't make up our own rules for salvation -i.e. claim that a faith in Jesus alone is enough, since the Bible says we should be doing these other things. Rather we should determine the proper and correct way that God wants us to do these things.

We would claim that authorized representatives of God in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints have this knowledge. It would thus behoove the individual to determine if this is true or not - then follow the Bible. And if it isn't the LDS faith - find another that does what the Bible teaches....
