Your Daily Atonement:
Today I want to talk about the atonement and how it can make a difference in our lives daily.
- Before we can talk about Repentance we need to understand sin
- What is sin?
- We all commit sins every day
- Yelling at your parents, siblings
- Lying to get out of trouble
- Teasing your siblings
- Not obeying parents when they ask you to do something
- Not reading scriptures, praying daily
- Every sin has a consequence and a penalty that affects us daily
- Consequence – results of sins upon ourselves and others
- Yelling at sister – Sister is mad at you and relationship weakened
- Lying to get out of trouble – you have to continue to lie…
- Trust is lost when lie is found out
- Penalty – result that comes because of withdrawal of spirit
- Spirit of lord withdraws from you – less influence
- You justify yourself that your sister deserves it
- You begin to not feel guilty for your actions
- Consequence – results of sins upon ourselves and others
- Through repentance we can often remove the penalties and consequences

- Sincere remorse for what we did and its consequences
- Forsake
- Truly strive to not make the same mistake again
- Confession
- Confess to person you hurt, yelled at, lied to
- Restitution
- If you lied tell them the truth, if you yelled at them tell them why and that your sorry
- Forgive others
- Forgive others including yourself for making a mistake
- Recognize what we have done
- Steps of repentance
- How will this make a difference In your life daily
- The spirit and its influence will be more in your life
- You will have a greater desire to do what is right
- You will receive revelation as to how to become even stronger
- You will begin to not focus on yourself but others and how to help them
- Relationships with your family and friends will be improved
- Admitting ones mistakes never causes another to feel mad at you
- Trying to not repeat our mistakes will help us show were making an effort
- Your heavenly father will be happy with you
- He will use you to strengthen others
- Others around you may begin to repent after seeing how you do it
- You will be happier
